Nightscape photography | Reflections on the canal, Leeds

Long exposure photography and water reflections were the order of the day in this episode of the vlog. I made the most of the canal in Leeds to shoot some night time cityscapes and urban landscapes.

It had been a while since I photographed the city at night and it was nice to get back to where things started on my YouTube channel (albeit in a different city!).

Check out the vlog:

It was a super-hot day in early May and the temperature meant even by 10pm it was really comfortable just walking around in shorts and a t-shirt. Great fun shooting this one. It's the first shoot I've done where I've had both the D500 and D7100 on me and the D500 has slotted into my workflow so well, it's a pleasure to shoot with. Not exactly lightweight lugging around both bodies, 2 lenses and 2 tripods (plus mics, torches and all the rest!) but worth it.

The D500 is proving not only to be awesome for stills - super sharp with great clarity - but also for video. And you'll definitely see more of the D500s low light video capability in future vlogs!

But for now here's a couple of images from the night, down at Granary Wharf ,Leeds.
